Myths, Folklore, and Symbolism: Spring

Spring: "Generally revered as the origin of life-giving powers and as a symbol of purity and fertile abundance, the spring was personified by many peoples (e.g., the Greeks) as a female deity. In the Bible it is sometimes a symbol of eternal life and rebirth. Jung considered the spring to be a symbol of inexhaustible spiritual and emotional energy." (Herder)
