Tansy: "Any of a genus of plants of the aster family, it has spicy, fragrant, volatile oil and was an ancient medicinal and magical plant. It appears in medieval art as an attribute of Mary. Tansy consecrated on Assumption Day is supposed to grant protection against magicians, witches, and the Devil." (Herder)
