Thanks to a really lovely historical fiction blogger who shall go unnamed, I have in my hot little hands a brand new hardback copy of R.J. Ellory's A Quiet Belief in Angels. As you might recall from my review, I really liked this book, and definitely recommend it.
And since I have my own ARC, and it is the holidays, I'd love to give you my copy of this gripping historical mystery! What do you have to do? Mine was definitely the Stephen Lawhead Robin Hood trilogy.

My favorite would be Mythology by Edith Hamilton. It includes a lot of Greek Mythology in a way that's easy to understand.
ReplyDeleteAND Song of the Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell. It's a lovely Arthurian legend retold in the voice of Elaine.
I'm not allowed to read "adult" rated books, but if it isn't an adult rated book, I'd love to win.

ReplyDelete@Kirthi - I'd not heard of Song of the Sparrow. Thank you for the rec! And I'm afraid that A Quiet Belief in Angels is probably considered adult rated, given the subject matter. You might have your folks check the summary to see if they're OK with it. If so, I'll make sure to include your comment!

ReplyDeleteLady of the Butterflies by Fiona Mountain gets my vote this year for its fascinating historical background and vivid descriptions. Enjoyed The Guernsey Potato Peel Pie Society too -humour lightens even the most difficult times.
